Not a great photo, but I couldn’t resist including it as I love the comic pose. This Great Blue heron landed on top of my kayak, aboard our boat in Loughborough Inlet, and set about preening itself. For about 20 minutes we watched from just a couple of feet away, behind the open window of our wheelhouse. What a show!
